Here's a quick video I shot after riding to Niagara Falls from Toronto (complete with rainbows over both the Canadian and American falls!). I took the Lakeshore Trail through Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton (lunch break), east to St Catherines, and then went the "long way" through Niagara on the Lake to the end of the trail. From there, it was a quick but gruelling journey up the escarpment to Niagara Falls. It felt good most of the way, but kilometers 100 to 120 seemed to come really slowly. Averaged just over 21km/h for the journey, which I hope to improve over the summer. On that route, you reach the "metric century" (100km) mark around Grimsby before St Catherines, and "century" (100 mile) mark just before getting back to the Niagara Falls bus stop. It was by far the longest ride I've ever done in a day (odometer reads just under 160km here, and I ended up with just a little more at 164, making the century), and a beautiful day for it (about 14 degrees, sunny most of the way). Apologies for the low-quality BB video (but no apologies for the genuine smile, and a tip of the cap to the Tragically Hip for the music). Finally HUGE thank you to Mr Grz for the loan of the bike and inspiring me to do things like this!
